Wellsprings Benefice

In the heart of Wiltshire, comprising the parishes of Bulkington, Potterne, Poulshot, Seend and Worton & Marston

While the nation takes measures to combat the spread of Covid-19, we recognise that God is still God and we are still church, whether we’re able to gather together or not.

How is the Church of England adapting plans for Holy Week and into Easter to meet the challenges of coronavirus?

#LiveLent: Care for God's Creation

This Lent, we hope that our Benefice will engage in God’s plea for us to “Care for Creation”. It is an opportunity for us to rebuild our relationship with our planet, and in turn with the God who is Lord of everything. During this time, we hope you might engage in prayer, learn more about the remarkable world we have been given and build habits that last beyond the season to protect and honour the earth.

About Us

The Wellsprings Benefice was formed in November 2017 from the former parishes of Seend, Bulkington and Poulshot and joining with the parishes of Potterne, Worton and Marston to form the new Benefice, which is set within stunning rolling Wiltshire countryside.

Our area is noted for its many springs and wells which remind us of scriptural references to the “living water” we find in Jesus Christ.

Our parishes are situated adjacent to the market town of Devizes. We are surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty mainly given over to farmland and unspoiled chalk downland which is rich in wildlife, history and archaeology.

Our five churches are served by a Team Rector, an Associate House for duty priest, a Licensed Lay Minister, and a number of other clergy and licensed laity, together with the Churchwardens and Parochial Church Councils.
