Emergency Appeal

“I hope and pray we will be generous. Whatever you can give will be an encouragement and a source of hope as well as a practical help in the present crisis." - Bishop Nicholas

Our own problems with Covid-19 in this country are significant, but our brothers and sisters in South Sudan face even greater problems with even less resources. The pandemic has added another frightening aspect to lives in South Sudan where ‘normal’ includes hunger and the threat of disease.

There is an urgent need for improved hygiene to help stave off the virus in a population weakened by famine. They desperately need SOAP and FOOD.

Our churches, that sit within the Devizes Deanery, have had a long term and personal relationship with the Diocese of Kajo Keji in South Sudan. We are therefore keen to provide help for our link Diocese by supporting Bishop Nicholas’ appeal, which hopes to raise £50,000 during July. The good news is that over £27,000 has already been raised but more is still desperately needed.

Their need is dire. People are dying and we can help prevent that from happening.
